In Finance, we’re a driving force behind the company’s continuing growth, helping to ensure we remain strong and profitable.

This involves working with every area of the business to make sure they have the right financial support they need to achieve our corporate goals. From providing critical management information and supporting our partnerships with other organisations, to maintaining strong investor relationships and ensuring Vectura meets all its regulatory obligations, we play a key role.

IT

It’s exciting times for IT in Vectura as we develop our focus on systems and data, and how they support Vectura’s business goals.  Significant projects covering ERP, Quality Systems, Office applications, and implementing specialised networks for our device developers are all underway.

Handling a fast changing environment is daily business for the whole team, and delivering change under the highly controlled environment you would expect. We are always aware that Information and Technology Platforms underpin our business, and we are incredibly proud to be part of the Vectura team delivering to patients.

HR

As the business has grown and developed, HR has been right at the heart of its transformation. We make sure we have the people strategies and solutions to enable our corporate ambitions.

We cover everything from HR administration and guidance on all employee-related matters through to leadership development, recruitment and HR strategy and policy development. Our HR Business Partners work closely with business leaders to understand their goals and challenges and to develop people solutions accordingly, enabled by our HR Operations team who take care of the day to day HR processes and corporate people initiatives. Ultimately, we are here to support the business and are focussed on creating a great place to work – throughout the whole employee lifecycle.

For example, you might be managing strong commercial relationships with our manufacturing partners to ensure they have the right technology to support the next generation of products quicker, cheaper and smarter. In the supply chain, you might be analysing global sales forecasts and advising on demand planning. Or you could be dealing with our sales partners around the world.

Whatever your role, you’ll gain experience across all the categories of spend.

With a supportive and collaborative atmosphere and the scope to contribute to the company’s overall success, you’ll find it’s a great place to develop your commercial legal and IP skills.

Portfolio and Programme Management

We’re the team that manages programmes in the business, supporting project managers to plan and execute their work.

So, we’re at the heart of every new initiative, ensuring we have the right people, tools and strategy in place to deliver the project successfully. Naturally, this means we’re involved with every part of the business, pulling together teams of people with the right skills to deliver everything from a new product or device, to a major office move.

Our people come for a diverse range of backgrounds from ex-engineers and scientists to experienced programme managers, all working together to deliver successful projects on time and to budget.

Corporate Communications

Our Communications team collaborates with all parts of the business to tell Vectura’s story, further building our reputation as a leader in inhaled therapies and engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.

Working with our colleagues, we oversee corporate communications to the market, our partners and the media.

With a growing focus on digital, we manage Vectura’s website and social media channels, delivering multimedia communications campaigns that support our business strategy.

We are also responsible for key publications, and internally we work closely with HR colleagues to deliver effective employee communications and engagement.

Meet our people

Tom Gerrish | Senior Portfolio and Capacity Planning Analyst

"A lot of different departments work with each other, so you feel connected to every part of the business."

I’m part of the team that’s the foundation of Project and Programme Management, supporting project managers to plan and execute their work, from helping them to understand how to put a business case together to managing costs.

This involves contact with every level of the business, from scientists and engineers on how to use particular tools, to experienced project managers on how to create effective plans, and the senior management team on the bigger Portfolio picture.

Tim Smithers | Programme Director

"I’m personally indebted to Vectura for giving me the flexibility to fit work around my personal commitments."

My mum has Alzheimer’s and my wife and I are her carers, so Vectura have given me the flexibility to work from home when I need to.

For example, when my mum came out of hospital, I needed to be at home 24/7 for two weeks. Vectura said yes straight away, “because family comes first”.

It’s not just this flexibility, but the emotional management that’s very important to me. Whenever anyone in the company asks how my mum is, they’re not thinking how it might impact on my work. There’s a genuine caring empathy that I’ve never found anywhere else.

Liza Hemmings | Director HR Operations

"I have the scope to define, consult about and implement new policies and benefits myself."

I started as an HR Manager in 2015. I’d been working for large corporate organisations previously where my focus was on implementing HR solutions that had been designed by Head Office. Because Vectura’s smaller, I have the scope to define, consult about and implement new policies and benefits myself, with the support of my team.

There’s a vibrant feeling in HR – we work well as a team. I also enjoy living and working in Chippenham. I’m a keen cyclist and there are some great designated cycle routes. I also have three dogs and the local countryside is great for dog walking.

Richard Summersell | VP IP

"You feel you’re making a difference to the business."

I joined Vectura in 2011 to build a professional IP group. It was the perfect job for me, because I had a respiratory and inhalation IP background and it was a small but growing entrepreneurial company.

We play a vital role in the business. There’s a good spirit of cooperation in our team and we also work with different teams across Vectura to protect and commercialise our innovation.

Where our professional services teams are based

Our team works with every area of the business, so we have people based at all Vectura’s locations. At Vectura. we want to enable everyone to find a balance between work and home life that works for them, so where possible we give our people the opportunity to work flexibly.
